Get connected

To make the most of the new TKI you should register for an account.

Registration and signing in are handled by the Education Sector Logon system, and if you already have an Education Sector Logon you are ready to go right now – just click Log in at the top right of the page.

If you don’t have an Education Sector Logon, why not make one now? It only takes a moment.

Find out more about registering and logging in to TKI.

Get creating

If you have a TKI account you can now create your own personal homepage kete. Open the Select kete menu on the homepage, and select Create under My kete on the right. Remember, you need to be logged in.

Kete can include any notes or links you want – they’re yours. There are also special types of kete you can create to display video from sites like YouTube, or the output of RSS feeds from news sites, blogs, twitter, wherever.

Create a bunch of personal kete around a topic, save them as a new preset homepage, and share it with anyone – they don’t even need their own TKI account to use your homepage.

The help section has more information, video, and FAQs showing how to create personal kete and preset homepages. And if you have the time, we’d love to hear how you’ve been using them – fill in the feedback form, or drop us a line.

Business case studies

A number of case studies are being developed to support level 3 NCEA business studies achievement standards. Each of these business case studies focuses on a successful New Zealand company that trades within Asian markets. Teachers and students are invited to explore these further, or use them as a framework to develop their own case studies.

Learning Languages

The Learning Languages community on TKI has launched a new website...

Content has been re-organised into six sections: professional support; pedagogy and research; assessment; ict and e-Learning; specific languages; and a private community.

Other features include a news and events section, events calendar, the ability to subscribe to a monthly newsletter, and links to many key resources.

Feedback and suggestions are welcome for news and events, improvements, and additions to the site via email.

Alternative education
