The New Zealand Curriculum
Explore The New Zealand Curriculum online and link to a range of resources and support materials. The revised curriculum will become mandatory from Feb 2010. Schools are encouraged to begin working towards its implementation. Check out the new section Strategies for Getting Started, and add comments to share your expertise and experiences.

Te Marautanga o Aotearoa: He tauira hei kōrerorero has been released for consultation. The document was launched on 15 November 2007. Schools will receive copies of the draft document for consultation shortly. Explore the online community for Te Marautanga o Aotearoa.

		What’s new

Dance units
Make use of these units that support the implementation of the New Zealand Curriculum. Dancing the Key Competencies contains ten units of work for levels 1–5, each addressing a key competency. Dancing Towards Respect focuses on levels 6–8 and includes NCEA Achievement Standards.

The Outlook for Someday: A Sustainability Film Challenge
This is an exciting opportunity for young film-makers to showcase their talent through producing a short film outlining how they see the future unfolding. It contains links to a toolkit, forum, judging criteria, sponsors, and all the information required to enter. Entry deadline is 19 September 2008.

Visual Culture and the New Zealand Curriculum

Change in ordering process for MOE resources and publications
The process for schools to order Ministry of Education resources and publications has changed. From 1 March 2008, Wickliffe Ltd is responsible for customer services and warehousing of the Ministry’s publications and resources – to order, phone 0800 660 662 or fax 0800 660 663. A new catalogue will soon be available for ordering online or by email.

Telephone Tutorial
