Te Rā o Waitangi/Waitangi Day Celebrations

Celebrate our national day at Waitangi Park where lots of different cultures are hosted by tangata whenua. There’s kapa haka, drumming, dance, music, kai and craft stalls, fun and games for children and, of course, a delicious traditional hangi to treat your tastebuds. the event starts at 10.00am and there is free entry.

Pasifika Festival 2010

Last year, the sun – drenched Waitangi Park was lined with stalls selling delicious Pacific food and great crafts – expect no less in 2010!
The Pasifika Festival also has several music stages featuring traditional music from all of our Pacific neighbours, as well as contemporary hip – hop music and dance. A great day for the whole family. Gates open 9.30am with free entry.
