Teacher Professional Development Languages (TPDL) Years 7-10 (PDF 376KB)
Over 150 teachers have completed this Ministry of Education funded programme to support schools to cater effectively for Learning Languages.

For 2010 the number of places has been increased to include 60 for teachers of Chinese, French, German, Japanese or Spanish plus a further 20 for teachers of Samoan and Cook Islands Māori.(Other Pasifika languages will be catered for over the next two years.)

Language study, pedagogy and In-school Support are the three components of TPDL. All teachers of languages, regardless of their teaching or language learning experience, are catered for.

Auckland UniServices of the University of Auckland is contracted to deliver this programme nationally. Principals or teachers should contact the project director Wendy Thomson w.thomson@auckland.ac.nz as soon as possible to ensure a place. Schools are encouraged to register more than one teacher.
