Matariki Festival at Te Papa
Utilise this Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa teaching resource on Matariki. Included is a unit plan, information about the months of the Māori calendar (maramataka), traditional Māori gardening tools, poi, traditional Māori instruments (taonga pūoro), potatoes, and Māori medicine. Visit the new Te Reo Māori in English-medium Schools community. This website has a link to the new Te Aho Arataki Marau mō te Ako i Te Reo Māori – Kura Auraki, and other information and resources relevant to the teaching and learning of te reo Māori. It also includes a speaker icon beside many words and phrases that enable the user to hear the correct pronunciation.
