Cameron Empson is about to leave his Te Awamutu family farm and embark on his secondary schooling as a boarder at Kings College in Auckland. He's set to become the third generation in his family to attend this prestigious school, arguably the finest in the country. Set on manicured grounds in Auckland's Otahuhu the school prides itself on tradition and excellence.Sons of the wealthiest New Zealand families attend this school. It is a school of privilege. A school where all the boys are equipped with laptops.
But Kings College also has a strong link to the farming community of New Zealand. A significant proportion of the boys who live in the boarding houses here are from outside the city limits. They're swapping milking gear
for pristine whites required to be worn on Sundays.
