Item 99167. This collection from various issues of "He Kohikohinga" begins on side 1 with 'Kei te Aha a Arana?' by Whetu Cormick ("He Kohikohinga 24"). Funny cartoony sound effects back this reading by the students of Te Kura Kaupapa o Ngā Mokopuna. 'Hī! Hā!' by Megan Simmonds, from the same issue, is read by the national touring cast of "Ngā Moemoeā" from Taki Rua. On side 2, Peter Kaa does a sizzling read about sausages in 'Tōtiti Werawera' by Fay Williams, and there is a delicious song to lick your lips to ("He Kohikohinga 22"). Hana Pomare and her dog recite 'Taku Kurī' by Jeanette King from "He Kohikohinga 21". Mina Ripia takes us into the native bush to the sound of fluttering wings and the heartbeat of the tui in 'Te Tui' by Rira Jones ("He Kohikohinga 23"). |
