The On TKI collection

Four of the On TKI resources are listed below.

Hot Topics

Hot Topics are collections of information and websites based around a topic. A topic is often chosen from a curriculum strand or subject area. Other times a topic is based around a current event, and linked back to relevant curriculum areas. All sites profiled in Hot Topics are rigorously checked by specialist TKI editors for credibility, functionality, and relevance to the New Zealand curriculum. You can find the latest Hot Topic listed on the home page.

You can also receive the Hot Topics by email for no charge. Subscribe to the TKI Hot Topics by going to the Interact page and selecting Subscribe - Hot Topics in the right-hand column.

Webguides

The Webguide is a column which focuses on an aspect of the Internet. It is published in every issue of the fortnightly New Zealand Education Gazette. The Webguides which have been published in the Gazette, are archived in this section of TKI.

There are three kinds of Webguides. Theme-based Webguides introduce a collection of websites based around a theme. Tutorial Webguides explain aspects of the Internet and how to use features of Te Kete Ipurangi. The third type of Webguide features school websites.

What's on the Box?

What's on the Box? highlights television programmes that may be of interest to teachers. It provides programming details and a TKI view that indicates the appropriate curriculum areas.
