Why do I need to register?

Have you ever used "Favourites" or "Bookmarks" to store your favourite websites so you can find them again later?

TKI Kete on Te Kete Ipurangi functions in the same way only better! And it's absolutely free!

How does TKI Kete work?

Create as many kete as you like

TKI Kete enables you to collect different types of resources, for example:

  • website addresses
  • TKI search results
  • email addresses
  • ISBN numbers
  • phone numbers
  • file paths of documents you've created

Every time you collect a resource, you save it into a kete, or folder. This helps you to organise and manage your resources to make them easy to retrieve for use in planning or in the classroom.

You can create as many kete as you like, grouping together related resources to make collections, for example:

Sports coaching
Elections
Learning Theories

Add resources in one click!

It's easy to add resources to your kete from TKI. Whenever you do a search on TKI and find a resource you would like to add to one of your kete, simply click on the icon Add this resource to the currently opened kete to add it to one of your kete.

Edit your resources

At any time, you can add to, edit, update, reorder, and reorganise the resources stored in any of your kete.

Share or copy kete

TKI recognises that it is important to teachers to be able to collaborate and share resources. TKI Kete enables you to do exactly that – share individual kete with other TKI users – so you can each add value to your shared resource. You can also copy an entire kete to another TKI user.

My First Kete

When you register for TKI Kete, your first kete will be created for you automatically. This kete, called "My first Kete", will contain information about the TKI Kete function and instructions on how to use it.

TKI recommends that you keep My first Kete, so you can refer back to the instructions at any time.

Easy steps to register for TKI Kete

  1. Go to TKI Kete Registration Form and enter your details. Click "Register".
  2. Go to www.tki.org.nz/e/tki
  3. In the login strip at the top of the page, enter the username and password that you chose when you signed up for TKI Kete.

  4. Click "Login".
  5. Scroll down to the bottom of the home page. You will now be able to see the TKI Kete menu panel on the right hand side:

  6. My first Kete will be in the drop-down box.
  7. Click "Open Kete".
  8. Read "Introduction" and "Instructions" in "My first Kete" for information about how to use TKI kete.
