Focus on English: Resource to support students with ESOL needs in Science, Social Studies and Mathematics
Focus on English is a teaching and learning resource to support ESOL provision for English language learners in years 7 - 12, who are at early stage 2 ELIP (English language Intensive Programme). The material is aimed to support students who have reached approximately a 300- word vocabulary level, i.e. those who are beyond the very first phase of English language learning. The materials are designed so that the teacher who has the student/s in their class can assist the student/s to do the tasks either individually or in a small group of English language learners, or alongside an English speaking peer.
