Workshops
1. Moyeen McCoy: Academic language for Pasifika students. A brief presentation of research findings completed for Dip TESSOL in 2003 followed by classroom resources for you to use with your ESOL students.

2. Natalie Kirton: A scaffolded approach to visual language and how it might be used across the cultures with young English language learners. |
3. Helen Nicholls: ‘ Seeing is believing’. Make the most of posters as a teaching, learning resource. |
4. Amjed Hanna: Arabic ESOL Learners A look at the historical, linguistic and cultural background of speakers of Arabic. How the mother language interferes in learning English as a second language. |
5. Jill Hadfield: Do you sometimes think you are speaking to a brick wall? Jill will lead you through strategies on how to manage group dynamics. |
6. Song Lam Wong: This workshop will focus on aspects of Chinese culture and how this affects student behaviour and achievement. |
There will be book displays from One English Book Store and Pearson Education throughout the evening.
