This new English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL): Information for Schools folder contains three sections:

ESOL Resourcing Information including:

• information on how to apply for ESOL funding, assessing students, and guidelines for using the funding effectively;
• contact details for the Ministry ESOL Team, Refugee Education Co-ordinators and the ESOL/Literacy Advisers.

Refugee Student Information including:

• The Refugee Handbook - to provide guidance to schools in meeting the needs of refugee students;
• order forms for the Families Learning Together booklets.

International Fee-paying Student Information including:

• Effective Provision for International Students - a handbook for schools to assist with providing effective programmes for International students;
• reference charts for schools with International students.

The new folder also contains copies of previous publications

• NESB Students: A Handbook for Schools, and
• NESB Students: The Assessment Guidelines.

The folder has been designed for greater ease of use. Some parts are in a loose-leaf format so that they may be photocopied and new publications or updates can be inserted easily into the appropriate sections.
