Research at PIERC Into Pacific Island Education Issues
Research includes:
- Educational research projects relevant to the Centre's activities and goals;
- Research projects on issues relating to Pacific peoples' languages and cultures in New Zealand;
- Research on learning issues for Pacific people.
Educational Resources at PIERC In Pacific Island Languages
These include:
- educational resources for early childhood education in Pacific Island languages;
- educational resources for primary school education in Pacific Island languages;
- educational resources for tertiary education in Pacific Island languages.
Tamaki Language Support Group (Auckland)
This group co-ordinates a programme for schools in the Tamaki area to participate in throughout the year. It includes a first language speech competition, story telling and a magazine of first language material produced by the students.
