Te Arotahi ki te Kai
Have a look at this new te reo Māori resource for kaiako wanting to encourage ākonga, tau 5–8, to think critically about food and what influences their food choices. This resource aligns with Te Marautanga o Aoteraroa and is designed to support kaiako with planning units of learning around food and nutrition.

He Kohinga Rauemi ā-Ipurangi
Explore this fantastic new resource for Māori medium teachers. The online Māori resource catalogue is a new area on TKI for ordering Māori resources online. You will be able to search and find specific details of books, posters, videos, and DVD’s in te reo Māori. These resources are developed by a range of publishers for the Ministry of Education.

Browse this section of Rauemi Reo Māori from the NZmaths website in te reo Māori. ‘Hei Tautoko i te Tauira Marautanga Pāngarau’ shows the extent of topics and achievement objectives for pāngarau aimed at levels 1–5 within the draft Te Marautanga o Aotearoa: He tauira hei kōrerorero. An overview explains the differences between the old marautanga and the new draft in relation to pāngarau. Browse the newly updated wickED website. wickED is the Ministry of Education’s student-focused site for 7–12 year-olds. From the Teacher Information page you can find the curriculum links for wickED topics that can be integrated into your classroom teaching and learning programme. In the Interactives section, there are language and literacy activities. Kokona Māori will provide a direct link to access Māori content.

Make use of the online teacher support material for the three collections of te reo Māori books, He Kohikohinga 34–51, Te Tautoko 47–64 and Te Wharekura 68–85.
The main curriculum focus is te reo Māori, but these teachers’ notes also cover aspects in all the other curriculum areas.
