David de Lautour – Adam

Name:David Hugh de Lautour
Date of birth:28 November 1982
Favourite actor:Matt Damon
Favourite movie:The Shawshank Redemption

Playing the role of Adam le Beau, Eve's love interest in Being Eve, is a thrill for David de Lautour, who has always dreamed of being an actor.

"I've wanted to act since I was 8-years-old when I was in my first stage show, Little Red Riding Hood," says de Lautour.

Having appeared in numerous stage musicals and plays, and winning a couple of roles in Xena, de Lautour was "stoked" to land the role of Adam – the victim of Eve's first major crush.

"My sister broke the good news when I got the part and I was totally buzzing," recalls de Lautour.

Adam comes across as the archetypal cool guy and that's the way he likes it – it stops anyone from getting too close. Jack Nicholson and Christian Slater were his role models and he's got the act down to a T.

"He's the new boy at the school and is keen to make friends but he's also very independent," says de Lautour. "He has to be with a totally disfunctional family life."

Adam's long since figured out there's not much point making close friends anyway. Every time he did, his parents used to up and move and he had to start all over again. But then his dad died suddenly and his mum decided to return to the city to be closer to her family. Maybe this time they'll stay put.

De Lautour is hoping to study acting overseas and has travelled to the US to audition for drama schools.

Being Eve may have wrapped but he's still in touch with his acting friends. "I picked up Joanna, Fleur and Lionel and we hung out at the beach the other day. We'll stay buddies for sure."

David de Lautour plays Adam.
