Exploring Drama   with Michael Hurst

Best known to the younger generation as Hercules' sidekick Iolaus on the television action series Hercules, Michael Hurst is an experienced actor and director. He trained at the Court Theatre in Christchurch and at Auckland's Theatre Corporate, and he was part of the group that founded the Watershed Theatre. Michael has directed and performed the lead roles in many of Shakespeare's plays, including Macbeth and Hamlet. Michael has incorporated his love for the martial arts into his career by working as a stage-fight choreographer and stunt coordinator.

Well, it's a storytelling thing; there's really nothing much else to it.

The Creative Explorer drama activity teaches students how to create freeze-frames, which is like taking a snapshot of a moment in time and freezing it. The activity gives students the starting point, and they can then move on to create their own freeze-frames. The instructions below explain the activity.
