4. Composition
"Composition is how everything fits together within the frame." Fiona.
Sima Urale thinks of each frame or shot as a picture, and tries to write it into her film script. Her storyboard shows frames of the film.
"Composition is the arrangement of the different elements in a painting." Robyn.
Go to PROCESS. Click on Composition. Reflect on this quote as you do one or both of the following activities.
"When you choose something to place within the frame you are also considering all the things that aren't in the frame." Fiona.
a. Framing the world
b. Basic pinhole. Take a strip of cardboard and at one end cut a small hole about 1cm across. Enough to peep through. Go for a walk with your "peephole" and look up close at tiny details on blades of grass, sand patterns, concrete, tree bark, ants........
