Unit Four : Creative Explorer - Extension Activities - Visual Art
Introducing the Work of Different Artists

If you enjoyed working on Unit 4 activities you may like to try out more ideas:

1. Composition with photographs

YOU NEED:

Printed image you created in Activity 6a.

Scissors and paste

Large photo from a magazine.

a. Take your printed picture and cut out the images.

b. Using the large photo from the magazine, place the images onto the picture. Try out some different placements.

c. Experiment with ideas for composition until you are satisfied with the overall effect.

d. Glue the images onto the picture and display. Consider a frame.

2. Timeframes

Go to the Timeframes website of the National Library of New Zealand http://timeframes1.natlib.govt.nz. You will need to log on to the member area of the site using the information provided in the Register Now area.

Browse through some of the images. Choose a theme and bookmark a selection of at least 4 images to present to the class. Write a commentary to go with your presentation.
