a. Select photos of groups of people from the newspaper. Each member of your group chooses a person to represent.

b. As a group decide where this event is taking place, why it is taking place and what the event is. Each person now decides who they are, and why they are there.

c. Make a freeze frame of the photograph and explore what each person is thinking, feeling and saying.

d. Put your freeze frames into sequence and share them with the other groups. Discuss what was actually communicated to the audience and whether this was what your group intended to communicate.

7. Choose a Writing Activity

Go to the volcano and select Patricia Grace and the Writing Activity section.
Choose one of the five different spiders on the web, to do a writing activity:

a. Choose a picture as a story starter.
b. Choose some text as a story starter.
c. Start your story from scratch.
d. Change the ending of Patricia's story.
e. Change the order of Patricia's story.

8. Filmmaking and Teamwork

Go to the volcano and locate Sima Urale and the Film Making section.
Make a story on film using the shots provided (remember to use the right arrow for more choices).
