Unit Six : Creative Explorer - The Interdisciplinary Arts

4. Invent a music soundtrack for a dramatic sequence.

Go to several artists sites and focus on soundtracks. In particular listen to the following for different ideas.

Show movie.

Now invent a dramatic sequence that builds tension and shows contrast. Using a musical instrument, voice, found sounds, computer generated sounds - invent a short soundtrack that accompanies the video tape.
Record your soundtrack and play to accompany the drama.


5. Invent a music soundtrack for your own choreographed dance sequence

Go to Activities for Maree and invent a melody that is twelve bars long.
Set the tempo.
Repeat by clicking on the play arrow again.
Save and print the music.
Play it while you devise a dance warm up activity.
Go to Acitivities for Neil and select DANCE CHOREOGRAPHER.
Draw in your warm up sequence and print.
Put the two copies together and share your music and dance ideas with someone.


6. Make a composed picture inspired by a song

Go to Maree's section and listen to all the soundtracks and background interest stories which relate to them.
What can you find out about:

Make U my own
Fatally Cool
Past to the Present
Drawn in Deep
To be Free
Choose one. For example "Past to the Present".
Go to Activities for Fiona and compose a picture that has links to the song in some way - theme, words, images, or feelings
OR paint a picture using similar Māori motifs used by Robyn Kahukiwa.
