Achievement standards 90008, 90302, and 90610 require students to demonstrate knowledge of a period or form of theatre: at Level 1 and 2 through performance and written understanding, and at Level 3 through written understanding. New Zealand theatre can be explored through these standards using a range of perspectives. Students can use New Zealand play texts as the context for meeting the following achievement standards.
NCEA Level 1
Achievement Standard 90008: Drama Creation – Demonstrate knowledge of a drama/theatre form through a practical presentation.
NCEA Level 2
Achievement Standard 90302: Drama Creation – Apply knowledge of a drama/theatre form or period through performing a role within a presentation.
NCEA Level 3
- Unit Standard 14183: Drama Studies – Compare the works of two Aotearoa New Zealand playwrights through performance.
- Achievement Standard 90610: Drama Studies – Demonstrate knowledge of a theatre form or period by analysing and interpreting two scripted texts.
