Staff facilities in drama suites
Drama teachers need work and storage space close to drama classrooms. Many drama teachers prefer to share these spaces with other arts teachers, especially dance and music teachers. Remember that drama teachers will spend a lot of after-hours time here during productions.
Staff facilities need to include:
- a desk suitable for a computer
- shelving and storage fittings for each teacher (now and in the future) – teachers who teach only one or two dance classes should have an area here too
- area for meetings and discussions
- shelving for scripts, books, videos, and other material that is not for student use
- secure storage for student records, including qualifications material
- space and power points for sound and video equipment (for preparation and assessment)
- kitchen facilities.
