The drama and music suites are adjacent to the school hall, which was refurbished as a theatre after a fire.
Three drama classrooms open from one corridor. The two main drama rooms are separated by heavy folding doors that provide very effective soundproofing. The rooms are used separately for timetabled classes, and as one large space for performances. Black screens and a black roller blind cover the walls and whiteboard during performances.
All rooms have substantial storage cupboards and lighting bars bolted to structural beams. A third drama room is slightly smaller and has electrically operated windows for ventilation, a better solution than the ducted air in the other rooms.
A wardrobe room with double-decker clothes rails opens into the performance space and the corridor. There are other storage rooms further along the corridor.
A lockable cupboard in the corridor provides secure storage for students' shoes and other belongings during classes. A drama staff office is nearby.
The large theatre (not generally used for timetabled drama) is alongside, linked to the main drama rooms across the corridor via two sets of large doors.
A mezzanine floor above the corridor contains two storage rooms for smaller objects, such as props. A control box has windows on two sides, one onto the theatre and one onto the main drama performance space, as well as storage for sound and lighting equipment.
