Art scholarships
Macandrew Intermediate runs an annual Art Scholarship for students from contributing primary schools. Any child can apply by putting together a portfolio of their best artwork.
Two students are selected each year for the scholarship. During their time at Macandrew, as well as participating in the normal art course, these students are given first choice of any of the art events that take place, such as participating in special art projects, and visits to:
- Dunedin Public Art Gallery;
- Dealer Galleries;
- Dunedin Museum;
- artists' studios.
In addition, the art scholars' school fees are paid, and they receive a part-payment towards the cost of their school uniform.
