Professional learning: Models

Lead teacher

In this model, key people who have leadership skills and credibility with staff are chosen to direct professional development in assessment. They might lead an analysis of school/teachers' needs, establish objectives, and find relevant articles and professional expertise. In addition, they might collaborate on the delivery of the programme, for instance through staff meetings, classroom visits, or online.

Lead teachers also evaluate the outcomes and make recommendations for further actions.
