Māori medium exemplars

Te reo Māori, pāngarau, pūtaiao, hangarau, tikanga ā-iwi, ngā toi and hauora exemplars are now available online.

Print versions of te reo Māori, pāngarau, pūtaiao, and hangarau exemplars have been distributed to schools, however not all the exemplars available in print have been published online.

What is an exemplar?
An exemplar is an authentic piece of student work, annotated to illustrate learning, achievement, and quality in relation to the levels in the national curriculum statement.

The purpose is to highlight features that teachers need to watch for, collect information about, and act on to promote learning. Exemplars help to answer the question, "What is quality work?"

For information about professional development on the exemplars contact your local curriculum area advisers at School Support Services, or the Assess to Learn team.
