What the work shows

The students built the role of Sarah, a girl who had run away from home. They used a number of conventions, including role on the wall, to develop their ideas about Sarah and why she might have run away.

Creates and develops a role for a specific situation (DI)

In role as detectives, the students investigate some clues left in a lost bag and work imaginatively to build up a picture of Sarah as a missing person.

Using Dramatic Structures
Chooses and uses the convention of role on the wall to create meaning (PK, CI)

The students use role on the wall to capture and deepen their understanding of the role of Sarah: her relationships, and a little about her history. They speculate on her reasons for running away. Michael and Alicia present and explain their ideas for the role to their group.
