This matrix sets out the music curriculum achievement objectives across levels 1 to 5, as demonstrated in students' work.
The indicators show how students might progress in key aspects of music in levels 1 to 5 of The Arts in the New Zealand Curriculum. The music exemplars available in print, online, and on CD-ROM show many, but not all, of these progressions.
The exemplars have been selected to illustrate significant points on the matrix. They show learning in music, through music, and about music. Most key aspects of learning in music combine in classroom practice, and these connections are noted in the exemplars.
