The task

The teacher gave the students some sets of fractions and asked them to put each set in order from smallest to largest. One was a set of unit fractions (1 ÷ 10, 1 ÷ 8, 1 ÷ 4, 1 ÷ 3, 1 ÷ 2), another a set of fractions with a common denominator (1 ÷ 4, 2 ÷ 4, 4 ÷ 4, 5 ÷ 4, 6 ÷ 4), and another a mixed set of fractions (2 ÷ 5, 7 ÷ 16, 2 ÷ 4, 2 ÷ 3, 6 ÷ 9, 3 ÷ 4). If the students could rank all three sets correctly, the teacher gave them a set of percentages and decimals to include in the range (30%, 0.5, 0.6, 75%).
