Emily and Sara's description of manuka and instructions for care

Transcript of student work

Manuka

This native tree is called the Manuka.
I chose this plant because it has really pretty flowers that
are white and sometimes pink. The Manuka grows very fast
and when it's smaller it competes with the grass.
This is how to plant the Manuka
1. Dig a little hole
2. Make a little mound in the hole
3. Spread the roots out.
4. Cover the hole with dirt or potting mix.
5. Press down firmly around the manuka.
The Manuka grows in the light in open spaces so if
its under shady places it dosen't grow as well.
The uses for manuka are that you can use the leaves
to make tea. You can use it as a Perfume for soap.
You can also use the manuka for firewood.
