Kia ora, welcome to assessment information

Page links: Team-Up | Feedback | Video corner

This is where you'll find information about assessment for learning, assessment used in schools, how to find out how your children are progressing, and how you can help them at home.

Team-Up

Families and whānau who support and encourage their children to learn can make a huge difference to what they can achieve with their learning.

Team-Up is the Ministry of Education’s programme for parents, fronted by Team-Up Education Ambassador Tana Umaga. The programme provides a range of information to assist you in helping your child with their learning.

A brochure about assessment is available. It describes what has changed, what teachers do and includes some suggested questions you can ask your child and their teacher. It also describes various methods schools use for assessment such as exemplars, asTTle and NCEA. The brochures come in seven different languages: English (PDF, 580KB); Māori (PDF, 631KB); Samoan (PDF, 519KB); Tongan (PDF, 548KB); Cook Islands Māori (PDF, 525KB); Tokelauan (PDF, 547KB); Niuean (PDF, 545KB); simplified Chinese (PDF, 1.14MB); traditional Chinese (PDF, 1.25MB) and Korean (PDF, 1.3MB).

You can pick up a brochure from your school or early childhood centre by phoning 0800 TEAM UP (0800 832 687) or emailing info@teamup.co.nz for a copy.
