About asTTle

Case studies

asTTle has been used successfully in many schools throughout New Zealand. Over 90% of primary schools have a copy of asTTle V2, and a large number of secondary schools have now utilised asTTle V3 and asTTle V4 in the classroom. As part of the National Assessment Strategy (1999) the Ministry of Education supports the development of assessment initiatives and recognises the need for quality assessment tools to help teachers develop and deliver effective teaching programmes that raise student achievement in reading, writing and mathematics.

An asTTle story is an account of the development of asTTle taken from the asTTle entry in the 2004 Bearing Point Awards. It includes some interesting and positive anecdotes from teachers who have used asTTle.

West Eyreton School, Rangiora
The principal at this small North Canterbury School was motivated to use asTTle in her school after hearing Professor John Hattie talking about how asTTle could help teachers with student assessment and how to share feedback and learning criteria with students.
