e-asTTle pilot
e-asTTle pilot for schools
e-asTTle includes a number of new features and changes from asTTle v4.
The e-asTTle pilot in 2008 includes reading, mathematics, pānui, and pāngarau. Writing and tuhituhi will be added in 2009. For further information about the new features and changes within e-asTTle, please read the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) on this website.
One of the key changes from asTTle v4 is the availability of e-asTTle via any internet accessible computer. This has resulted in a number of technical requirements to use e-asTTle, which are detailed in the e-asTTle Computer Specs (Word 36KB). To participate in the e-asTTle pilot it is essential that you confirm that your school computers and network can support the minimum technical requirements to run e-asTTle.
e-asTTle pilot terms and conditions
We want to make sure that the e-asTTle pilot is a success – both for the schools involved in the pilot and for the team developing e-asTTle.
As a consequence, participation in the e-asTTle pilot requires acceptance of the following terms and conditions:
- You will not be able to bring any data from tests you have administered in previous versions of asTTle. e-asTTle is now matched to the new curriculum and uses a different test scale, which prevents data being imported from asTTle tests – you will have the ability to import tests created within asTTle, however.
- You will be expected to complete both reading and mathematics tests with your students.
- The data that is generated from your tests will be used by Auckland University for research purposes (e.g., updating e-asTTle norms). No student names or schools will be identified in this process. For further details regarding data privacy, please read the e-asTTle Data Privacy Statement.
- You will be required to complete an email survey near the completion of the pilot period (early July). This will provide the team developing e-asTTle and the Ministry support teams with valuable feedback regarding application enhancements and process improvements for the 2009 release of e-asTTle.
