asTTle V1 and V2 were released in 2002, asTTle V3 in 2004. As a result of evaluations, asTTle has been significantly improved and updated. The current edition is Version 4.
The following online tutorials are provided to assist you in installing and using asTTle. To get started, access each tutorial by clicking on the title. Using asTTle
New tutorials
Two new tutorials one to assist in moderating asTTle writing and one as a guide for Māori medium teachers for using asTTle.
- Moderating asTTle Writing
This online tutorial provides the information for teachers and school management teams. The information includes: the process for moderation of asTTle Writing, how to ensure consistent assessment decisions between markers, and how to have the confidence in the accuracy of the results. - Introduction to asTTle in Māori medium
This online tutorial provides Māori medium teachers with an overview and guide to using asTTle. The tutorial is in te reo Māori. - Using asTTle: A Teacher's Guide
This online tutorial provides information for teachers to assist in installing and using asTTle. It includes information on creating a test, managing tests, viewing reports, managing students, getting help, importing and exporting data, and deleting and restoring data. - Multi-User Administrator Guide
This online tutorial provides information for administrators of asTTle and includes information on multi-user installation guide: server, multi-user installation guide: client application, and multi-user set-up guide. - Data Sharing and Your Student Management System
This online tutorial includes information on importing student data from the student management system into asTTle, managing the export of asTTle assessment results to the student management system, and making decisions about why and when to export asTTle results for use in the student management system. - Understanding asTTle Reports
This online tutorial has information about how to identify students' learning needs, planning learning programmes, planning next learning steps, reporting student progress, identifying school-wide trends, making strategic planning decisions, and reporting student achievement to the Board of Trustees and school community.

This online tutorial provides a guide for clients to install the multi-user asTTle. Includes detail about computer requirements, steps to follow for upgrading the installation, and links to related tutorials and the asTTle site. - Multi-User: Getting Started
This online tutorial provides administrators about setting up multi-user asTTle. Includes steps to follow for administration application, advice for teachers, importing student details from the student management system, what to do with data on previous versions of asTTle, and links to related tutorials. - Single-User Installation Guide
This online tutorial provides steps to follow for upgrading from asTTle versions 1, 2, or 3, and links to the asTTle site and Ministry of Education ICT Helpdesk.
