4. Pests and predators – interactive activity

Learning Outcomes

Students will be able to:

  • explain how pests affect indigenous habitats;
  • state the consequences of the loss of biodiversity caused by pests and predators.

Students can access the Pests and Predators interactive lesson here or from the sign post navigation.

The interactive allows the students to see the devastation a particular pest can cause to the New Zealand bush. A fact file with related information about that animal and its impact on the environment appears. The pests include a stoat, rat, cat, dog, possum, and a pest fish.
