What is EPIC?
EPIC (Electronic Purchasing In Collaboration) is a venture between New Zealand libraries and the Ministry of Education. EPIC gives schools free access to an unparalleled range of electronic resources from the following database providers:
- EBSCO
- Encyclopaedia Britannica
- Oxford Online
- ProQuest
- Gale Cengage
EPIC is available to all registered New Zealand schools. The Ministry of Education has agreed to fund access for all New Zealand Schools to 31 March 2009.

What is available?
Through EPIC schools can access databases containing thousands of international (and some New Zealand) magazines, newspapers, biographies, substantial reference works, and images. EPIC lets you access up-to-date full text articles covering a huge range of subjects. Complete resource lists are available when you access any of the EPIC databases.

Who can use EPIC?
EPIC supports the teaching and learning in New Zealand schools. It is intended for use by the following people within primary and secondary schools:
- principal
- teachers
- library staff
- students.

Can I use EPIC at home?
Yes. Teachers, students, and library staff may access EPIC from home using their school's password and username login. Please note that we require that a school's username and password are kept confidential to your school community and all users must abide by the terms and conditions of use.

How do I access EPIC?
Your school needs to sign and return a letter of agreement with the National Library of New Zealand. Visit the registration page for more information.

I've already registered for EPIC but I can't access all of the resources, what's wrong?
