Hinewehi Mohi is an accomplished singer, composer,
and documentary film maker, who has been active in the promotion
of Māori performing arts and broadcasting for several
years. She has produced Marae, sung the National Anthem at
the Rugby World Cup, and released an album called Oceania.

What did you want to be when you were young?
A Go-Go dancer and then an actress, then a broadcaster. I've
achieved most of that, except I am a pretty awful dancer!
Who are your inspirational role models?
My kuia for her commitment and energy to whānau; Hirini Melbourne
for his commitment and energy to Māori music; and my daughter
Hineraukatauri for her commitment and energy to life.

The cheese is seriously dodgy!

I'm totally flakey at times. I'd rather be in denial about
my MOST embarrassing moment!
What are your ambitions for the future?
To take Māori music to the world stage.
What sparked your interest in following
your particular career path?
My love for singing and especially kapa haka performance.
