School policies and programmes for gifted and talented education
This key collection contains material of importance to school managers and teachers involved with developing gifted and talented education policies for their schools, and with planning and teaching programmes for gifted and talented students. The material is divided as follows:
MOE handbook for schools: This site is the online edition of the New Zealand Ministry of Education's gifted and talented 'handbook' for schools, entitled Gifted & talented: Meeting students' needs in schools.G&T Related Reading: This site provides a wide range of online material by New Zealand authors about gifted and talented education, which has been collected to support the Ministry material in the handbook.Curriculum support materials: This collection contains articles and professional readings that will assist teachers to develop appropriate learning programmes for gifted and talented students in their classes. The resources have been organised in curriculum areas to enable teachers to access material that is relevant to their particular subject area(s).
Professional learning and support: This collection contains information about professional learning opportunities and organisations for support that are available in New Zealand to assist teachers and school managers to cater more effectively for gifted and talented learners.
