Annotated bibliography of publications for parents of gifted and talented children

Introduction

In the process of further developing the gifted and talented community site on TKI to ensure that it meets the needs of these learners, a recommendation was made the gifted and talented advisory group to establish an online annotated bibliography of publications for parents of gifted and talented learners.

The purpose of the publication is to provide guidance for parents and whanau in sourcing materials to support the needs of their gifted and talented children. The text reflects the key messages of gifted and talented education, as outlined in Initiatives for Gifted and Talented Learners (Office of the Minister of Education, 2002).

The annotated bibliography was developed by Anna Meuli. Anna is an advisor to primary and secondary schools in the area of gifted and talented students at Victoria University: Wellington College of Education. She has been actively involved for a number of years in supporting students, parents and educators to better understand and develop giftedness and talent.
