Implementation
The Arts in the New Zealand Curriculum is distributed to schools by term 4. The parallel statement in te reo Māori will be published in late 2000.
Ngā Toi i roto i te Marautanga o Aotearoa will be distributed to schools with Māori-medium classes
By late 2002, schools must be able to show how they are implementing the new arts curriculum.

Materials development to support the arts

Unwrapping the Arts
offers examples and units for teachers of years 1 to 5 at: www.tki.org.nz/e/arts

The Arts Database, a central database of materials published to support the arts, is available online at: www.tki.org.nz/e/arts

The updated CD-Rom of Creative Explorer will be available by the end of this year.

A video and booklets supporting drama for years 1 to 6 and 7 to 10 will arrive in schools early this year.

The first five booklets supporting the visual arts for years 1 to 6 will arrive in schools in term one.

Revised handbooks and compact discs supporting music for years 1 to 8 and a revised handbook for years 9 to 10 begin arriving in schools from mid-year.

A video and set of booklets to support dance are planned for late 2001.
