School Support Services
The professional development for the arts in 2006 and beyond is in-depth and school-based. Experienced School Support Services facilitators are working on an individual basis with teachers to increase their content knowledge, competence, and confidence in teaching the arts.
This work is involving teachers and facilitators in an action/reflection model where they team teach, observe, plan, and discuss the work that is happening in the classroom. When a number of teachers in a school are working in-depth, there is a shift in school culture and students and communities reap the benefits of a rich and diverse arts programme.
