Education for Sustainability

'Education for sustainability' is a term that develops the narrower understanding of 'environmental education' to include social, cultural, economic and environmental sustainability.

Seventeen coordinators work through the School Support Services to help schools develop and deliver education for sustainability programmes. These people are experts in helping schools connect with numerous programmes being offered through local government, non-government organisations, and other environmental organisations.

They can assist with the development of integrated curriculum, experiential learning, and NCEA programmes in areas of sustainability.

The National Coordinator is Barry Law, barry.law@cce.ac.nz, phone 03 348 2059, or contact your local School Support Services provider.

Further information can be accessed from the Environmental Education page.
