Learning outcomes

What do your students need to learn?

Gathering and analysing a range of information about the creative play needs of your students will help you to identify the knowledge, skills, and attitudes that they need to develop in their class programmes. Possible learning outcomes that relate to the creative play experiences in this book are listed below. You could draw on these outcomes to set goals with your students and to provide them with feedback about their progress.

The outcomes are listed here under relevant key concepts, but most of the activities will help students to meet outcomes for more than one concept. The learning outcomes in bold are the focus outcomes for each key concept, and assessment opportunities have been identified for them. Other learning outcomes are also developed within the activities.

Enhancing a sense of self-worth

Students will: Level Strand AO

explore and describe their feelings and emotions when moving in different situations;

respond spontaneously, in their own individual ways, to a variety of stimuli;

say what they enjoyed about taking part in an imaginative activity.

Increasing body awareness

identify different body parts;
