A writing team, coordinated by Ainslee Coates, spent two half days
working together to develop examples of starter units in health
education. This team was made up of practising classroom teachers
who are passionate and committed to health education in primary
and intermediate schools.
The starter activities produced as a result of this writing group include learning outcomes, links to achievement objectives, student activities, assessment tasks, teaching methodology, and links to the underlying concepts of Health and Physical Education in the New Zealand Curriculum.
