Careers
As the end of another year approaches, many students will be thinking about
their futures: “What career do I want to pursue, and what do I need to
get there?”
These questions influence the subjects, training, or employment options that
each student will choose.
There are several career sites available to inform students about their career
options and the qualifications or training required for each industry and position.
Many of the selected sites below also feature advice on preparing a curriculum
vitae (CV) for employers, and interview skills to help students put their best
feet forward when applying for a job.
How can you find your ideal career if you don’t know that it exists?
Students can benefit from taking the time to research the myriad of options
available in the job market. They can utilise online tools such as Career Services
Rapuara, arrange an appointment with their school careers advisor, and talk
to people they know, such as their parents, parents’ friends and colleagues,
and classmates’ family members, who are in jobs they find interesting.
Feel free to direct your students to some of the sites below.
