The Enrolment Process

In the Electoral Commission's site, find out who is eligible to enrol by clicking on the "How to Enrol" heading and reading the first page.

A virtual election page is linked to the resources section of this site. It uses the same formula that will calculate election results on November 27.

You can type the percentage of the list vote you think each party will get, as well as any electorate seats, and the site will calculate the make-up of the resulting parliament.

To find the map of your electorate at this site, click on "Our Electoral System" at the top of the home page and then on "Electorates" in the cornerbox. Choose the electorate you want in the search box and then click on "Go".

The Parties

Increasingly political parties have a website which profiles their policies and members.

Please note: These links were valid when this page was posted. However the Web is very volatile, and TKI has no control over outside websites. Please let us know if you find anything inappropriate, if you find a broken link, or if you have an update for a link by emailing links@tki.org.nz. Te Kete Ipurangi recommends that teachers view all websites we link to before using them with students.
