Teaching approaches
Research into key factors that have a positive effect on students' learning (Hattie, 1999) indicates that innovative, responsive teachers can make a real difference to students' achievement. The way they are taught affects how students learn. Some recommended approaches for learning in this curriculum are:
- critical thinking and critical action;
- the co-operative learning approach;
- the social inquiry process;
- experiential learning;
- the Games for Understanding model.
These teaching approaches are discussed on the following pages. (Use right hand menu to navigate.)
