Creative Logo Designs
In this ICT integration idea written by teachers, for teachers, students discover
the purpose of a logo and what makes a logo effective. Students search for existing logos, and utilise various painting applications
to create a logo.

Minimal knowledge of a painting program

Access to a painting program, for example, Microsoft Paint, Paint Brush, and Works, and use of the Internet, magazines, newspapers, and catalogues.
Possible context
Design a logo for a variety of purposes, for example, personal, school, business, or company logo.
Suggested process
- Brainstorm and/or mind map the various purposes of having a logo.
- Discuss the elements that make up a logo.
- Find examples of existing logos; discuss what makes them good and/or better from other designs.
- Use a painting program to design logo.
- Experiment with different shapes, colours/fill, lines, texture, text, and objects.

- Design a letterhead, logo or newsletter for the school or class
- T-shirt screen-printing
