Curriculum reference
English curriculum – visual language

Prerequisites

  • Minimal knowledge of a presentation program
  • Digital camera

Resources

  • Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Hyper Studio
  • Corel Presentation

Possible context
Design a multimedia presentation for lower classroom instruction or for bilingual purposes.

Suggested process

  1. Group discussion about new entrant students, classes, and teaching and learning.
  2. Visit a new entrant class to observe the class environment.
  3. Brainstorm on what type of multimedia presentation would best suit the level, for example, learning colours, shapes, or numbers.
  4. Design a multimedia presentation.
  5. Have students from the junior class use and test the presentation designed for assessment purposes.

Next stage

  • Incorporate sound; make the presentation interactive, for example, click for a response, and using a clapping sound for positive reinforcement.
  • Produce a digital book for the assigned area or level.
