Wizard News
This ICT starter idea written by teachers, for teachers, describes
how a class could create its own newspaper with moving images. The
idea takes inspiration from the way that the Daily Planet in the
wizard world of Harry Potter presents photos and information in
a 3-D manner.

Suggested process
- Read the relevant passages from the Harry Potter books relating
to the Daily Planet News.
- Look at examples of newspapers, both printed and online.
- Discuss how these ideas can be implemented for a classroom
presentation.
- Brainstorm the content and define audience.
- Assign responsibility for different areas of the newspaper.
- Using a web construction program, design the outline for the
newspaper.
- Students insert their contributions.

- Add animated gifs to enhance newspaper (these may be original
or sourced from other areas).
